The High School Graduate Program (HSGP) has been established by the EACH Foundation, Inc., through the One Child – One Congregation (OCOC) Initiative, to assist High School Graduates who are currently placed in the custody of the Forsyth County Department of Social Services (FCDSS). The program was established to help children in foster care with the financial needs associated with high school graduation. This is done through sponsorships primarily from the local church community, but also from other organizations and individuals willing to assist.
Children in foster care face a multitude of challenges. The area of education can be especially challenging due to their emotional state, moving homes, and changing schools. Each time a child changes schools the impact is estimated to be a six month loss of education. It is an extraordinary accomplishment for a foster child to maintain their grades through all obstacles, and have the opportunity to earn their High School diploma. Unknown to most people the children in foster care are not afforded the same graduation experience as their peers. The EACH Foundation, Inc. is determined to change that through the High School Graduate Program and graduate sponsorships. A graduate can be sponsored for only $500—(the average cost for a High School graduation package is $800-$1000). The sponsorship will cover the cost of various items that may include a class ring, senior pictures, and a yearbook to mark this momentous occasion. It is only through the generosity of the church community, individuals, and local businesses that we will be able to provide these children the graduation experience they all deserve.
Thank you for your support,
